Akram Khan is awarded the 2005 Critics' Circle National Dance Awards prize for Outstanding Male or Female Artist (modern).
Zero Degrees - Akram Khan/ Sidi Larbi Cherckaoui/ Antony Gormley/ Nitin Sawnhey - was nominated for the 2006 Laurence Olivier Awards (Best New Dance Production).
2004
Akram Khan becomes an Associate Artist at Sadler's Wells Theatre after the enormously successful run of the production zero degrees at Sadler's `Wells in July.
In June 2004, Akram Khan was awarded an MBE for his services to the UK dance community.
Akram Khan received a South Bank Show Award (DANCE) for his work in ma. Hosted by Lord Melvyn Bragg, the Awards were televised on ITV 1 on Sunday, 30 January 2005.
2004
In 2004 he received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from De Montfort University for his contribution to the UK arts community.
Akram Khan receives a 2003 Critics' Circle Dance Award for Best Choreography (modern section).
Awarded International Movimentos Tanzpreis (Berlin) for "Most Promising Newcomer in Dance".
Rush is selected to be on the A Level syllabus (UK) in January 2004.
